A complete stranger in the car in front of me paid my toll on the bridge.
They had no idea how my day was going. I was having a stressful morning and when I put my hand out to pay my $5.00 the toll clerk told me that the car in front of me had already paid for me. Surprise. I tried to catch up to the car to give a thankful wave, but they sped up and when the road split they drove to the right and I was headed left. Positive example. I hope I can return the random act of kindness. I will certainly pay for the car behind me the next time I cross the bridge. It brightened my day and I would love to brighten somebody else's day the way mine was. Thank you sweet stranger, you have encouraged me to be a better person.

My friend and I paid toll for a car behind us years ago; it felt good. But a while back Miriam Pierce paid for me because I was behind her at our RS cooking class, awesomeness.
Oh, I just love random acts of kindness.
Here's my most recent experience: We were at Costco a few months ago and decided to eat at the food bar. We ordered and went to pay, but apparently, they only take cash or check (what?! who carries checks?! I guess if we ate there more than once every 10 years we may have known) Anyways, we were scrounging around for cash and the guy behind us stepped up and offered to pay for our food. So nice. AND, even when I found ten bucks to give him, he wouldn't take it.
That's so sweet. I love it!
That made me smile. Such a good reminder!! :)
Those are the best days. How sweet.
I was having a totally crappy day once and the toll guy said something along the lines of "now how'm I gonna make such pretty little mama pay to cross this bridge?" and let me go.. I don't remember what was going on that morning, but I remember almost crying because of the kindness of this stranger.. (i probably looked like i hadn't been told i was pretty in a long time) anyway, great post!
I love hearing stories like this!
